BB'z Story

Welcome to BB'z Studio, a culmination of a lifetime of musical endeavors.

My studio is the product of a lifetime of playing in LOTS of bands,  recording,  being a session player, writing music,  making songs for TV and radio advertising, Touring, etc...

I began playing Drums when I was about 4 years old , banging on a "lincoln Logs" toy bucket.

In the 3rd grade I got a toy drumset for xmas (still have whats left of them).  in the 5th grade I got a snare drum for xmas.  In the 6th grade I joined the school band, and got a cymbal for xmas. In the 7th grade I started leaning how to play guitar. In the 8th grade I was playing in bands at school talent shows, and house parties. In the 9th Grade I did my first professional drum session in a real recording studio.

I have an uncle "Dave Peters" whom is drumming Royalty in the South. (Louisiana Leroux,  Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Tab Benoit ) He was teaching me drum rudiments with a traditional grip at a very early age.  I was offered a full paid scholarship to a Louisiana college for Drumming.  Of course I made the wise decision to turn that down and instead join a popular local rock and roll band - LIQIUD JELLY MONKEY LOVE.

Liquid Jelly Monkey Love was a very popular band in my home town of Baton Rouge LA.  we could pack a bar to the point where the Fire Dept would show up and stop the band because the bar was over crowded beyond fire code capacity - "Every weekend"

we also toured around the Southeast playing at College parties, and all the cool regional bars for about 5 years.

I Moved to Los Angeles in 1996 and began playing with anyone and everyone that was trying to do anything. I played in all the bars on the strip. sometimes in a cool band with a crowd on a Saturday night. Sometimes in a terrible band, on a Tuesday, to the bartenders - haha rough town!

I played with and recorded with many an artist around L.A. trying to get something going.

I was in a band called Pincushion that did really well in LA - check out my music page and You can hear some - Im Drumming

I Moved to New York City in about 1999 to Join Atlantic Records recording artists SEVENTH HOUSE.

Seventh House was from Pittsburgh PA,  and had gotten a major label deal and needed a drummer- BAM

Seventh House had songs on National Radio, We played Warped Tour, Played large music festivals with crowds of over 10,000's  along side the biggest bands of the time. We basically stayed in a van touring around the country for 2 years straight.

I had a gig in NYC for a few weeks playing some percussion along with a DJ in the World Trade Center, at a bar on the 107th floor called "Windows of the World".   The Gig unfortunately abruptly  ended when several airplanes were flown into the side of the building, knocking them down - maybe You heard about it.  (I was there the Friday night before, and set to return the following friday.)

After 9/11 the record deal for Seventh House fell through and I moved back to LA.

Upon returning I immediately got hooked up via an old bandmate, with going on a tour with Bruce Willis and his band "The Accelerators" .  Bruce plays the Harp and had a fantastic band.  I was the Roadie, I set up all the drums, and guitars, and Bass, and keys etc..  It took a little while, but as I would play all the instruments at soundcheck, they noticed I could play and I was eventually invited to join the band. (and I was still the Roadie)

I got to be friends with Bruce and would help him and his entourage do things around the House in LA , then we would do things like blast off to the Bahamas for a gig, or back to NYC for the Dave Letterman show etc.. it was an awesome experience.

I went with Bruce on a USO tour of Iraq in 2003.  We went straight into the war zone with a group of marine tour guides, and It was insane.  I flew in 9 helicopters in 9 days Which supposedly is impressive even for military personnel.  I sat strapped into the back of a chinook while flying over the garden of eden - literally!  ( did I mention it was insane?)  Puked in a C-137 during tactical flying maneuvers over Mosul while trying to land so we weren't an easy target from below.  we played several gigs all over the region at the US military bases for the US troops.  it was "Freaking Insane" and I am proud to have been a part of it!

I went on a US Tour with Bruce Willis and Ivan Neville - coast to coast

I went on Tour with "Panic at the Disco" and "The Academy Is"  -coast to coast

I went on tour with Chris Brown  - coast to coast

I went on gigs with Sheila EI

I went on a tour of Europe with Steve Vai - 23 countries

I toured around Jamaica for months at a time with a band from D.C. called "The Pocket"

I also had an all original band in LA called JACK HIGH. I wrote all the tunes, and pretty much  recorded all the parts on all the instruments.  All this led me to working with some big studio producers, and getting in on some of the commercial Jingle work and song writing for TV and Radio that I was lucky to get into.

I played drums on multiple "Outback Steakhouse" national commercial spots - ( Youve Heard them )

Wrote songs for  Disney TV (Suite Life of Zack and Cody)

Pontiac Car Co.

Monster Garage

sang on spots for Wrigleys Gum

and more

- check out my music page  and hear some.

I was flown back to NYC to Record Drums for Maxim of "Prodigy" on a solo album he was making with record producer "Machine"

I played with a band out of Washington D.C. called THE POCKET.  I spent months at a time travelling around Jamaica with them (as they had a record deal there)

Then I met the Love of My life - Stephie  and we moved back to Baton Rouge in 2005 and got married.  I immediately started full time gigging with hometown super star CHRIS LEBLANC.  Chris is the best musician ive listed so far.  Playing with him further sharpened my skills, both on drums and guitar.  I traveled with Chris all over the South, to Alaska, a Week in Steam boat CO. every year, Etc...  more amazing adventures.

I Played lead guitar in an all Motown cover band from Covington Louisiana -Soul Revival.

They had been together for over 20 years, and it was an honor to play in the band, and a great experience on guitar playing all that old style of music. it really broadened my playing chops.

added some Soul Funk to my playing!

I started my own band playing some of my old Jack High originals, and cover tunes

BIG RADIO- were available call us!

It all leads to this new Studio.  I have spent almost 2 years building it - Literally with my own 2 hands (and the help of my man Justin)  I dug up a tree, poured concrete, framed the walls, hung the sheetrock etc.. now its an awesome sound proof, sonically treated, real deal recording studio - I Love it.

These days my Focus is Primarily  Business's commercial Jingles made right here in my studio   check out the Autonomous Productions section of this website for further information.

Oh and recording my 8 year old baby girl JACY MAE sing, and make up words on the fly- its awesome!
